Bunnings Warehouse will continue to be the official sponsor of the Bunnings Warehouse National Provincial Championship (NPC), Farah Palmer Cup (FPC) presented by Bunnings Warehouse and Bunnings Warehouse Heartland Championship.
NZR Chief Executive Mark Robinson said Bunnings Warehouse has made a long-lasting impact on provincial rugby and is excited for the journey to continue.
“We are thrilled to have Bunnings Warehouse onboard for a further two years. They have strengthened our provincial rugby from grassroots upwards through their support and association with these competitions,” Robinson said.
“Bunnings Warehouse has strong local connections with our 26 Provincial Unions and it has been great to see NPC and FPC players join the Bunnings team engaging with schools, community groups and clubs.”
As part of the two-year deal, Bunnings Warehouse will continue Bunnings Rugby Assist, an annual opportunity for all local rugby clubs to apply for a share of $300,000 worth of Bunnings Warehouse products and materials to improve their facilities.
Since 2021, Bunnings Warehouse has contributed over $900,000 worth of product and materials to clubs across the country.
Bunnings Warehouse General Manager, Melissa Haines, said they are looking forward to continuing their partnership with NZR to support provincial and grassroots rugby in our local communities.
“We’re committed to supporting local rugby clubs and the important role they play in bringing communities together. We launched Bunnings Rugby Assist in 2021 to help community rugby clubs build and maintain facilities that are vital to their operation. Our team has enjoyed lending a hand in helping grassroots rugby communities across Aotearoa and we can’t wait to kick off another season,” Haines said.
NZR General Manager Community Rugby Steve Lancaster said Bunnings Warehouse have ensured and demonstrated the importance of putting rugby at the heart of every community.
