She’s also the first woman to hit the century mark for Canterbury.
Ohaere-Fox is set to start in Sunday’s Farah Palmer Cup clash against Wellington at Rugby Park in Christchurch.
Originally from Thames, she made her Canterbury debut in 2004 and never envisaged she’d still be playing in the Red and Black 17 years later.
“I never thought when I came to Canterbury for a summer holiday back in 2004 that I would have lived here, let along play this long for Canterbury.”
The front-rower played 24 times for the Black Ferns between 2008 and 2014, played for the Wasps in the UK and was part of the Barbarians side in 2019.

She’s been an inspirational leader of Canterbury, captaining her side to victory in 2017, 2018 and 2019, before taking last year off to give birth to her second child.
Te Ohaere-Fox said she loves the game and the team and there was no second thought about returning to the Farah Palmer Cup this season.

Sunday’s milestone will be a huge moment for her and her whānau, as she gets set to become the first Cantabrian centurion since Andrew Mehrtens.
“I’m really proud of this achievement. But it’s as much for my parents, Ange, the support of my teammates and coaches.”
It will be an extra special occasion, with Te Ohaere-Fox’s successor in the captaincy role, Alana Bremner, set to play her 50th.
Kick off between Canterbury and Wellington is at 2.05pm on Sunday 1 August, at Christchurch’s Rugby Park. The match will be live on Sky Sport NZ.
